It looks like they may have moved the page. Try this link: http://www.tsr.ch/tsr/index.html?siteSect=202000&y=2008&dossier=montreux

The Radio Paradiso videos are on the right of the page. Paolo is the fifth one down.

Thanks Michelle.

Cool Paula...

I've found a link in the french forum, it's a short video (scroll down a little bit til the name Paolo Nutini and click on "La vidéo" there are photos too apparently on this site but I haven't found it yet...)
Seems like Paolo is really busy as Paula said

Thanks, Nurse for the great find! Smiler Cool Can't understand it all... working on it... does sound like he's busy...

Always gracious and accomodating. I like how he promises to come back to finish the interview and let's the guy make himself at home... Razzer

How frickin cool would that have been!! See - that's more the sound I was expecting from Paolo on this new disc - more soulful/bluesy/funky. The new tunes I've heard are so different and so varied. I like that it's so different though, (High Hopes and that dixieland sounding tune Pencil Full of Lead - are instant favs).

I love that Paolo has such a wide musical reference. I love it when artists mix up their sound and try new things. It will be very interesting to hear the response to his new music, and though he says the world wouldn't end if he didn't make another record it would certainly be a very, very sad day indeed. It's not just that's there's so much music in the world that hasn't been heard going back years - it's also his voice and everything that makes Paolo Paolo that would be missed...

PAOLO PRODUCED THE NEW ALBUM HIMSELF! WOW! That must be some kind of record for youngest producer ever - amazing. Now I really can't wait to hear it.

First mention of him producing the album himself came from this article, I believe. It was just after the T in the Park gig: (Mention is near the end)

From BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat, Sunday, 13 July 2008:

Paolo Nutini surprised fans by playing new songs for the first time in the UK at T in the Park.

The 5pm slot on the T Break stage on Saturday wasn't confirmed until hours before Snake Derrick And The Vipers took to the stage.

Paolo Nutini told Newsbeat why he decided to go under a different name.

He said: "It's just a bit of fun, it gives us a way of doing new songs and not worry about playing so much from the last time.

He added that the idea for the name came from a computer game.

"I was playing the football pro-evolution game and there was a guy called Snake Derrick on there and he scored a lot of goals for me so I thought it would be a good name," he said.

Fans of Paolo shouldn't worry though. He's not keeping his new name.

He said: "This should be the only time Snake Derrick does any gigs."

Those who packed into the T Break tent seemed to love his new material as much as when he belted out New Shoes at the very end.
The crowd left delighted they had caught this one-off performance of Snake Derrick And The Vipers.
Plastic snakes and T-shirts were handed out by Paolo and his band at the end, perhaps to ensure they wouldn't be forgotten.
Jenny from Glasgow had no idea he was playing.
She said: "It was a surprise, he was so good. Brilliant, brilliant, better than his old stuff."
Katy from Kinross loved hearing the new material: "Great yeah, he's kind of making him a true artist, being more rootsy, not really giving a damn what everyone else thinks and not trying to do the pop thing."
It certainly wasn't particularly poppy.
Most of the tracks included a saxophone, maracas and a harmonica giving it a more jazzy and even country and western feel.
There was even a bit of country dancing on stage at one point.
Paolo told Newsbeat: "It's probably a bit more dynamic than in the first record.
"If you scratch it there's a little bit more to it. This is just some more [tracks] to gig with really."
So when will everyone else hear his new material?
"Not sure. As soon as it's ready I guess. I'm producing it myself," he said.
"It's coming along, mixing it soon. Hopefully by October."
