Yeah, Betsy and Bib is sooooo right...

I'm in Denver and it's a dry heat here. Unfortunately, this past weekend at Mile High Festival,... we hit I think around 100 degree,... If you keep sun screen on and keep hydrated, you can tolerate those high temps. I can tell you from my experience, ( lived most of my life in hot humid Ohio and now dry denver), in the dry heat if you find shade or wear a hat and drink lots of water,.. YOU'LL SURVIVE....lol

It's become a thing with Beth and I to tell every band that comes to down it's not the altitude that'll get you... it's the dehydration....lol

LOTS OF WATER!!! You'll sweat it out before you PEE it out... I promise...lol

Thanks for all that advice. I know all you boardies would save my spot anyway Big Grin I will remember to keep hydrated from the time I get there-that should help right? I just worry because the heat gives me hives-wouldn't that be special to see me tranform before all of your eyes??

It will definitely work. I have to tell you that in ohio, I was always breaking out in rashes and hives from the heat. Dry heat is different... also, with the humidity, you don't realize that you're dehydrated.... In the dry heat, if you keep hydrated you won't get the hives/rashes. I don't know why, but it works. WATER!!!

I've been out west in the dry heat and I've been in humid heat and I can't imagine what it must have been like for Kat and Betsy at these events, crowded in with all those people - body heat just adds to the suffering. I felt it at Lolla, however, we were all standing right next to Lake Michigan (our giant air conditioner when the wind is blowing the right way) and we were all blessed with several divinely sent breezes from off the lake.

I got pretty acclamated to the dry heat that is out here. Telluride, was insanely hot,... but this past weekend at Mile High was unreal. This was their first year, but I think that they need more tented area's... not as many as they needed.

A couple of years ago I was in Kansas city in August... and that humidity was such a reminder... I hate the humidity. I could never live in it again... visit,.. but not live...

I dunno about super powers (thanks for that vote of confidence, Bib). However ladies - I thank the Gods that be that my gall bladder attacked now instead of later. I just got back from the hospital after having my gall bladder removed. I feel much better now - and will be all healthy by August 15th!

WHOA! Had no idea! Glad you're all better now and will be able to um. . . assist in place saving for boardies at the Vegas gig. Big Grin

I think there are enough of you going that you all could spread out along the front of the stage and get pics of everyone from every angle! Big Grin

FYI - I just was on the Hard Rock Hotel website to make a change to our reservation and I was able to get cheaper rates.

We got rates of $79 Thurs, $229 Fri, $299 Sat.
It is still super expensive for Saturday but the Thursday price makes up for it. Split with a roomie and it's not too bad.

If you are interested, I clicked on the "Blazing Summer Rates" icon on the right side of the main page to get to these rates.

Can't wait to meet everyone! Cool
