I tried teaching everyone a Celtic song to sing while we were there.

For Sambista

For its a grand old team to play for
For its a grand old team to see
For if you know your history, well its enough to make your heart go oh oh oh oh...

We dont care what the animals say
what the hell do we care
coz we only know that theres gonny be a show
and the Glasgow Celtic with be there....

(in the original song the line goes 'We don't care if we win lose or draw, what the hell do we care' but through the times it got changed to 'we dont care what the animals say')

And how its meant to sound

24/07/2007 - Paolo's Blog
Paolo and the band were down at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London this week for the iTunes festival - different show on every night in July by a whole range of people like Paul McCartney and Amy Winehouse.

It was nice to see Paolo play a more intimate gig - particularly since he's mostly been at festivals recently, and anybody at the Brixton Academy gigs will be familiar with the support band Ghosts who were on before Paolo that night as well.

Paul Weller even showed up with his daughter to watch some of the set - he had to leave early though as he was DJ-ing at Madame Jojo's in Soho that night, he did leave a few tickets so after the gig Paolo and some of the Band managed to sneak down and catch the rest of his set.

Later on that week the guys headed down to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Paolo played there the year before and in interviews still talks about how good a night it was after getting to perform on stage with the likes of Ben.E.King and party after it with Kid Rock.

This year was just as eventful, before the show on Thursday Paolo was personally invited up to a party at Claude Nobs' (the founder of the festival) house in the mountains.

'House' doesn't really do it justice to be honest! It's the most amazing place, the views of lake Geneva are unbelievable and he must have a better music collection than most music museums so Paolo was kept busy!

Whilst talking to Claude, Paolo mentioned he was going to perform 'I Wanna Be Like You' but changed his mind as he felt with no brass section and it being a jazz festival he wouldn't be doing it justice. Claude somehow managed to get Solomon Burke's trumpet player to accompany Paolo on stage with only an hour or two's notice!

The gig was packed and when it came to the last song 'Funky Cigarette', who wandered on stage but Claude Nobs himself with his harmonica. A brilliant end to the set and Paolo loved having Claude on stage with him.

After the show Paolo had couldn't stay behind and celebrate as he was leaving at 4am in order to make a friend's wedding the next morning. Guess he'll just have to make up for it next year!

Seems as if Paolo didn't want to take a flight with the
"especially for him, the Scottish musician and girliedream (LOL) ordered hot-air ballon. After the shy Nutini hesitated Supertramp legend Roger Hodgsen took his chance to a tour over the Swiss Alps".
