(?? Does that make sense? I realy need to improve my english!)

After a good sleep, a wee shuftie round the shops and lunch in The Chippy Doon The Lane we made our way up Buchanan Street, towards our next hotel. As we approached George Square I could hear a sound-check in progress. As we entered George Square I could hear 'Down in Mexico' in progress Naturally we stayed and watched/listened until the end (an hour).

Everyone seemed to be present except Paolo but then lo and behold I glanced to my right and there along the pavement was himself

After a bit of embarrassed dithering I decided to go and say hello. Sweet Mary, what an approachable, warm, friendly, down-to-earth, humble individual! He could not have been more patient and kind, especially towards my son which meant alot to me (and said alot about him). He is a credit to his family, to Paisley, to Scotland...
(I'm getting carried away now...! )

A thoroughly decent human-being. Go Paolo! (Please, never change.)

Ha ha ha! Love it – you can’t go overboard with Paolo. Amazing description! Wonderful photos – so evocative; I also felt as if I were there, as others have commented. So happy you and your son had that experience. Thanks for posting everything!

The funny thing about 'Down in Mexico' is I had lost everyone, I gave my daughter my mobile phone and had no-way of contacting anyone but I stopped my search to video this song. When we all finally met up & got home we realised that we were standing in almost identical places at the same time but we still missed each other Roll Eyes

Sambista and Paula! Thank you for posting everything on Hogmanay - these two clips especially. I love this tune!

It is reminiscent of old ska, but I can’t find it. I’m hoping it's something Paolo worked on with Gavin – I was looking forward to that happening! Please, Paolo, put it in the live repertoire! Check out the wicked call-and response at 1:53 – they rehearsed this well! (P.S. Kimpy – never heard ska called “reggae-polka” before! LOL)

Way to skank, Paolo!

I'm just wondering though, did I make myself clear? Should I have enthused a bit more?

I like Paolo’s hat with plaits, it looks like he escaped from Astérix or something !

Now I’m preparing a review about Dublin’s days…
