Hi guys, I am new hear but it looks like a great little fan club so far!
I would just likt to talk about this song "Jenny Dont be Hasty" which I feel his one of the best tracks on the album. Can anybody provide some more insight into the story of what happened between Paolo and this slightly older woman? "Better to be hated than to be mediocre". |

Hi CharlieGirl & Welcome  As far as I know Paolo & Jenny met, Jenny said she was 23 and ask Paolo how old he was, Paolo answered 23, they dated & when she found out he was only 18 she slapped his face and left. Not quite Romeo & Juliet but makes for a great song   Bring back The Humpff Family |

I am surprised that "Jenny" (I'm guessing he didn't use her real name) hasn't popped up somewhere to claim her song.Most people would have wanted their 15 minutes already.

Well, I suppose it is embarrassing for a grown woman to be dating a boy that age. And perhaps she is afraid that if she were to claim this song, that she might look like a pervert or predator.
Im 19, and I would not turn down an 18 year old puolo! lol Thanks for that guys! I think the song has some humourin it, but some sadness as well. You know, its one of those songs about lost love. "Better to be hated than to be mediocre". |

Oh, I think that she is more like kicking herself now.
If you have similar interests age shouldn't be a factor, (this is coming from one who is currently going out with someone 15 years her junior...lol). When I was 27 I dated someone who was barely 18. No it wasn't a forever match made in heaven, but we had a lot in common. Age wasn't a factor at all...he knew how old I was and I knew how old he was. Personally, I bet she now feels a bit silly for getting so upset about it. In my opinion age doesn't matter, but trust does. If I found out a guy had been dating had lied to me about something as little as his age, then I'd wonder what else he's told me that was a lie. If he wanted me to get to know him for who he was, then what was wrong with his actual age that he felt he had to lie to me in the first place? Imagine how she must have felt finding out that the sweet wonderful guy she had been dating was a liar.
I know people lie to each other all the time for various reasons, saving feelings, avoiding a storm, but why lie about your age? As far as women lying about their age goes, I don't.  "Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup." |

I respect the opinion here, but its just wierd when there is such a large age gap. I have a 17 year old sister dating a 25 year old guy, and its just WIERD. Very weird. I cant wait until they break up becuase he is getting away with preying on a borderline child.

Well, it's not the age gap that bothers me... It's the under 18.
It's kind'a creepy to me. In most of our eyes, under 18 means that they are still a child... I was pushing it when the guy I was dating was only 3 months into being 18 when I was datin him..... I have to tell you, if it weren't fro the fact that we had sooooo much in common, I know that I wouldn't have been dating him.... The guy I'm seeing now is 32... so the 15 year difference isn't that big a deal... He and teri were high school sweethearts... they broke up and he took off to london to work on his music career. right before he signed with atlantic, he went back home... while there he went to see her and found that she had been in London for a while....
