Whoever runs his myspace page.... I've heard it's his sister. Not sure though...

they did email me right back a couple of weeks ago and told me to have patience that he would be back to the USA... They also said that they were just now adding the tour dates... In retrospect, they obviously knew that they were trying to get him here....

I was telling them what a great musical scene that denver had, begging them to get him here...lol...we do have a great music scene here.... I'm just sooooo tickled I can't see straight... only problem is that the soiled dove hasn't updated their info yet and I can't get the tickets yet!!!

I'll be chatting them up tomorrow.... Need tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope he comes to atlanta too, so you can see him....

I found out yesterday that ETTA JAMES is going to be here at the end of march too..... I missed her the last time she played the Paramount, (same place that Paolo and the boys were at here in October).

So is anyone else upset Sara Bareilles is touring with James Blunt... I wanted to go see her but I can't stand James Blunt(no offense to anyone who likes him)... why couldn't she just be touring by herself haha! I guess I could just go for her part and then leave...

In case people are still interested; most of Justin's Rotterdam gig:

YouTube link

I'd go to a James Blunt show to see Sara. Definitely! Though I prefered her with Mika, Paolo, Maroon5 or something else I actually really like.

Hey, I met Newton Faulkner and saw his show last night!!! Amazing!

Any more of these lovely, friendly musicians and I’m going to faint the next time someone’s rude to me!

He played a free short gig (the first of four other bands, what an odd thing) in a small club – came on right at 9:30 and played for about half an hour – just Newton and his guitars! It began like it was going to be the best-kept secret in Toronto, but by the end of his set the place was packed. His last song: “Bohemian Rhapsody!”

I talked to him just before he went on – he actually popped out right in front of me looking for his Rep (she showed up 10 mins later) and I said, “Hey, I’m here to see YOU!” and shook his hand and he said, “Wicked!” and then we got to chatting. What a nice guy, and ooh, can he sing and wail on that guitar. When he came out to play he said “hi” to me again which was charming!

It was so intimate! I took pictures, but no video – I should have but I felt weird having my camera out right in his face as it were. If anybody wants more info or to see pics let me know – it looks like some of you are heading to his shows and you will have a great time!

I’ve been singing “Teardrop” all day!

How exciting. I'm going on Monday to see him. It's a freebie too, but it's exclusive.... I'm pretty sure that I'm in. Would love to see the pictures that you took. Do you have a myspace or a multiply.

A friend of mine and I went to see Back Door Slam last night. We hung out chatted with them and their crazy road manager, Evan... it was fun. I've got photo's on my Multiply (in my signature), My friend Beth took really good video....

We were polite and asked if we could video the show.... Davy was like... " don't see why not"... sure.... These guys too are really nice, polite, and a bit shy.... All these Uk young gentlemen coming over here and making nice.... it's great... Can't wait for newton.... Can't wait for Paolo and the boys either!!

Hiya Kat!

Glad you will be seeing Newton – it is a fun time – and hopefully he will play longer for you!

So happy there’s great live music to be had in the absence of Paolo!

I could have filmed easily, it’s not that – I just didn’t want to stand right there with the camera and not be able to clap, etc. Camera flashes – not good! The show was so bare-bones, no one else on the small stage, Newton could really see everyone and we could see him. I felt like I was getting a private concert! When he first came on the bar was a bit empty, too (start time was listed as 10 in some places.) No one even announced him! I wanted to give total support.

All the girls in the front had cameras (!) and there were 2 professional photographers there so I’m sure there will be lots of recordings floating around.
You will see from my photos that no one went right up to the stage – it was unnecessary and would have been too close if that makes sense. I apologize for the poor quality in advance, sorry. (Drinking and photography don’t mix!)

Photos

I’ll post on Newton’s site, too, since there’s not much about the Toronto show yet, with the added bonus that he actually interacts with his website which is cool.

I wish Paolo would make his presence known on his forum – It’s great to hear from Mick, but even that’s rare.

There was a fun CBC interview and studio performance today – podcast
(Skip to a quarter of the way through.)

Enjoy!

Oh, thanks for the pictures. Oh, I can tell you that won't last. He will be playing bigger gigs like Paolo, This is just an introduction to North America...

I'm excited. I missed Paolo when he first hit our shores.... I'm glad that I can catch it on another artist.... It's exciting.

I think that I will be able to see him a bit longer. This show is just him and Shawn Mullins. Shawn Mullins, I didn't realize plays Denver/Boulder a lot. This is an appreciation concert...I think it's around 300 that the tickets will be distributed.... and I can tell you from experience 20-35% don't use the tickets... So I think that the crowd will be a nice perfect size...

Thanks again for the pictures...
Kat
