Will attempt another: Any help appreciated...
Worried Song or Worried Man by Paolo Nutini First performed at The Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2008, Telluride, CO Worries are above him (them?) Heavy on his gut He feels he's being punished For the bad things that he's done Help him, Jesus, help him Send him down a sign 'Cause he feels he's getting old before his time And he's sitting at the table, the table he has sit? He's begging for the courage to redeem some self-respect Aw, help him, Jesus, help him Walk along the line 'Cause he feels he's getting old before his time He says it takes a worried man to sing a worried song It takes a worried man to sing a worried song He says it takes a worried man to sing a worried song And he's worried now, but he won't be worried long Aw, and he broke her heart on a warm and sunny day Aw, he broke her heart on a warm and sunny day When she heard what he had to say All the sun soon went away He broke her heart on a cold and rainy day He says it takes a worried man to sing a worried song It takes a worried man to sing a worried song He says it takes a worried man to sing a worried song And he's worried now, but he won't be worried long 'Cause he's gonna try, try with all his might From this day to make these dark eyes bright And they'll wonder where he's gone while he's knelt before her throne Refusing to go down without a fight He says it takes a worried man to sing a worried song It takes a worried man to sing a worried song He says it takes a worried man to sing a worried song And he's worried now, but he won't be worried long ....humming.... I love the sound of this song... For some reason it reminds me of the old western movies I watched growing up... Parents were big on them... Is this a common theme in some of Paolo's songs? Refusing to go down without a fight? I'm going to have to think about that a little...Hmmm... Johnny Cash tribute, too? Paolo: "Walk along the line." Johnny Cash: "I walk the line, because you're mine." Is this merely a troubled love song? Or is Paolo trying to say something else, too??? Just random thoughts... I find it pleasing that Paolo has included Jesus in this song, it means a lot to me! The great sense of passing through... |

I can`t stop listening to this song!
It makes me cry, and in the same time, it gives me so much courage to overcome my fears and doubts!! It`s such a simple, but powerfull song!!! THis is another thing that i appreciate to the his new songs: there are more than love songs. Thank you, Paolo, for this!!! And thank you, OneWordt, for the lyrics! cecernoros |
