First, let me thank you for your apology. It was lovely and is appreciated.
Second, I will probably never understand how important it is to you to meet as many "big" Paolo fans as possible. From my point of view it's nice to meet people I feel like I "know" from here, but I wouldn't want complete strangers coming up to me and announcing they saw my picture on the cd. That's frightening. You never know who you're really talking to and they know who you are. This is NOT my idea of a good thing, which is why, initially, I considered not uploading a picture at all. Third, I didn't like the fine print I read directly under the upload box, which said something to the effect that by uploading the picture I was giving permission for its use in further promotion of the tour. Again, this was a privacy issue for me. I don't want people coming up to me announcing that they kow me from some promotional poster anymore than I want people recognising me from a cd. Lastly, not wanting to pass up the opportunity to be a part of this cd, I tried to find something that was meaningful, without being redundant. I figured that everyone has seen umpteen pictures of all the guys already. So the picture I uploaded seemed to be the only one that fit the spirit of the idea of fan participation in the making of the cds. It didn't work for me properly at first either, but I got a second chance when someone here posted a link, and I took the chance to try it again. It worked, and I'm still surprised it was included. |

OMG! I didn't even notice it. I was feeling sorry for myself, since I couldn't get the upload thingy to work for me, but now I feel much better. Thanks, Michelle, for pointing that out. |

I guess I am, 2-4-3. I'm in the background of Michelle's pic. I wish I could have got my pic with Paolo uploaded, but I'm not real good at those things. How often do you get the chance to be on an artist's CD? Cool! |

Hey, you're there, background or not! So I say it's a win! |

This question "what are your coordinates?" is cracking me up. I keep feeling like we're on some outdoor survival training expedition and I should have a map and a compass in front of me. The next fan project will probably require a GPS system.

Hi Bib,
Thank you so much for letting me know you had read my apology and I hope it went some way to reversing the effects of my inital thoughtless post. Just to update I tried to keep my initial example to a min (we all know I type too much), I agree completly that we all should feel safe and have our personal space respected, which is why I never approach or chat to strangers at gigs unless they ask me something or start chatting to me. Can you imagine the sight of me charging up to complete strangers and shouting "I'm Jacq from the forum, who are you?" I'd be carted off.... The girl I was referring to was already engaged in chit chat with me and some others as we were all standing around outside (discussing how good the gig was, did you get the CD, etc) and I then spotted her holding a photo of herself that was on the CD and that's how we got onto the subject. I'd hate to think that I'd stand side by side at a gig with someone who has been a long term friend on this forum and then go home and realise that I'd missed the chance to to say hi in person and offer to catch up over a beer/milkshake/coffee (circle as appropriate), especially if they or I have travelled and may not have the chance to tangibly meet again, but also totally understand that there are many people who like to keep their private life private and are happy to keep the friendships they find here as virtual ones. P.S. I love your post about the co ordinates, everytime someone announces theirs, I hear it in my head being shouted over a walkie talkie by a desert storm trooper!!! P.P.S. I'm going to ask moderator PC to remove all posts from this thread tomorrow that relate to my post I've now deleted. PC Moderator - 2-5-2, do you copy, Rodger? 2-2-5 Over and out! Jacq xxx |
