Ok everyone, back during the last week of the boys USA tour we were all talking about doing something for the guys..... All sorts of ideas came up, including a quilt.

Since the guys are off and working on the new album, it's time for us to occupy ourselves....

The idea of a quilt has come up again. I myself have been doing smaller, (baby quilts), for years. My son in laws mom is a professional quilter. I spoke with her earlier today in regards to this and is willing to lend us a hand where and when necessary.

Each person who would like to participate, could make a square, (size is yet to be determined due to needing to know how many participants there will be).

Creativity is the hardest part of the challenge. Design your own square. It can be sewn, appliqued, embroidered, or even painted, (there are fabulous fabric paints available). If you don't think that you're up to it, check with your local Joann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, or Quilting boutique. You would be very surprised how easy it would be to make an individual square....

Well, if you're interested, post your name in this thread and we'll take it from there.

Kat

Re: more than one quilt???? It was mentioned on another thread, possibly doing individual quilts for the boys. Let's see how many participants and possibly how many would like to participate on more than one quilt. I also think that it would be a great idea to include a letter from each participant talking about themselves and/or the block that they made..... Just a thought.

Re: How long will it take? WEll, I think that right now, we'll take a couple of weeks, just taking names to see who wants to participate..... I think then we'll decide how large and then give everyone I don't know,....... after that, we'll see how long it takes for everyone to get their square done... we'll give everyone I guess a month to their square finished. I think that would be more than enough time.... Then we would need a Deadline of getting them sent in....

I'm in. I'm not very crafty though so I would appreciate any hints on how to create a cool quilt square. I can't sew worth beans. I even send my sons Boy Scout uniform across the country so Grandma can sew on his patches. Bad mommy Frowner
