Well, I think he ought to sing it on the American tour at least, especially since, that song was featured in a tv ad a few years back for, I think, a car rental company was it? (Can't remember. LOL! Paying too much attention to the song! Big Grin ) and of course, that's life on the road.

And with that I'll add that I think it would be a real hoot if he covered "King of the Road" by Roger Miller as well. Cool

Come ON! I know all the people here who aren't into country music will let that one slide as soon as they hear him sing "road" with his thick Scottish accent. I can even hear it in my head as I type. Big Grin

A wee bit of encouragement.

This is a nifty little ditty also.

And this one is a good bit of fun.

Geez!

That's okay, Betsy. We'll let it slide this time but please get caught up before Vegas. Razzer Big Grin

I can't remember that ad either... LOL

"King of the Road" would be a great one for Paolo! Love Roger Miller! Country icon, too, in my book! I used to sing this song as a kid, as well. Smiler Can't get over just how big a part of my life music was... and I enjoyed so many different genres...

We can dream about him singing this with that wonderful accent of his... he didn't seem too keen on calling any of his music country... Frowner

Thanks for the memories with those links! I grew up with Cash's show... Cash and Miller together... big treat... So funny, too. LOL That big laugh of Johnny's just gets me!!! LOL

He had a good chemistry with Lynn Anderson Smiler ...singing that song again... Cool He was arrested in in Starkville for tresspassing to pick flowers... He wrote a song about it! :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnOdN0RmF1g

Campbell and Cash really had fun with the song... Big Grin Now you've got me wanting to listen to Glen again!!! Wow, he had a voice! I loved him in "True Grit!" One of the best John Wayne movies!!!

Glad to bring up those fond memories for you. It's always fun to watch these old clips on youtube. The Johnny Cash show was a bit before my time though. At least I think it was. I'm not always so sure sometimes. I grew up watching and listening to what ever my parents watched and listened to and I don't think they were ever "into" anything. They just liked what they liked and that was it. So for various reasons I ended up seeing and hearing a rather wide range of stuff growing up. I couldn't tell you half of what it was or who anyone was, but if I hear it or see it again on site's like Youtube, I go nuts! I can't believe how many of these famous people I didn't know I knew about. Does that make sense?

Makes sense to me!!! Smiler

Cash's show ran between 1969 and 1971 on ABC according to Wikipedia. I was born in 1958... Parents were into all kinds of country music, old western movies and TV programs, etc. (Gunsmoke and Rifleman were among favorite TV programs...). As you, I usually mostly watched what they watched... And I have forgotten about a lot of it... that is 'till something or someone (like you Smiler)brings it up again. Thanks for the memories, as Carol Burnett would sing... Smiler

Oops!!! Big Grin

Here's part of Carol's:

"I'm so glad we had this time together,
Just to have a laugh, or sing a song.
Seems we just get started and before you know it
Comes the time we have to say, 'So long."

How could I let that slip from memory??? Confused I've watched so many of her shows in my lifetime...

I had the memories song going around in my head and could only attach it to Carol... LOL

Now you've got me wanting to watch an old Bob Hope movie!!! Cool
Yes, I've watched many of his movies, too! LOL
