Really enjoyed it. Third time I've seen Editors and REM (Guillemots ok but not one of my faves). Best one for REM, Michael Stipe really into it. Loved his "bad dancing at a wedding" moves. Forgotten how politically outspoken they are. Pity they didn't play a few of the old ones but at least they played mine (Orange Crush). We were in seats but dancing at the end. Miserable couple next to me asked the people in front of them to sit down!!!
Older people was probaly me - and there were some even older but all having a good time. There's life in the old ...

Enjoy Numan - going with pasty face and peroxide hair?

We were on the pitch near the back but near the bar! Most of the people in the seats were just sitting there ! Seems like they have dropped Everybody Hurts, thought some of the new songs came over good live.

As for Gary Numan I just don't know what to expect !!!!

We were by the half way line. I've come to the selfish conclusion that they should sell the seats in categories - those who want to sit and have the option to dance and a total miserable a..e section for those who just don't want to enjoy the occasion.

This is the first time I've seen them when they haven't done Everybody hurts. Missed out on Stand and my daughter's fave Nightswimming.

Re standing, last saw Editors at Ally Pally , wouldn't go there again. They were really good but the crowd were really miserable and not joining in.

A little bit off topic, not quite a gig.

Going to see a play in Liverpool (European Capital of Culture!!!) next month about Erics where all the punk bands used to play.

why, because we want to sit and watch the gig, do you class us as 'the miserable arse' section!! seats were for sitting if you want to dance you should go in the standing area provided, I'm way too old to dance around, I like to sit and observe a gig, I don't want anyone jumping up and spoiling my view!!

If you re read my post (because this is in type you don't get the intonation of voice), I did say I was being selfish - tongue in cheek - but the two next to me were virtually dead. I sat because at my age I also don't want to stand all night but it is good to have the option of a little jig around, (I'm vertically challenged so opt for stands!). There was room on the pitch but you couldn't cross over if you were in seating. I stood up at the encores only, because I did not want to obstuct anyone's view throughout the whole concertt.

You could be right. They were probably instrumental in "stand" not being performed. I really wanted to do the square jump thing!!! Smiler
(Just worked out the emoticon things - techno-phobe)

Anyway, looking forward to the Wombats. On at the Coronet, never been there before. Anyone know what it's like as a venue?

Saw Blur there a few years back,on the right side of the stage there is raised bit,if you get on that the view's not to bad, what I can remember its a bit like Shepherd's Bush Empire but I may be wrong, there is a Weatherspoons pub oppersite the venue as well, but Elephant and Castle is not the nicest of places.Beware ! Thanks for that, already been warned about the area. Short but tough - some parts of Liverpool are like Beirut (no offence to anyone there). Wink
