Luke Haines from the Auteurs tonight.

The previous 2 times I've seen him live have been fantastic so I'm really looking forward to it. He's a very entertaining performer, I'd highly recommend to anyone in London as he's playing your neck of the woods soon.

Is he connected to Black Box Recorder, too, then?

Yes, he was the main songwriter behind BBR. Fingers in lots of pies! That was his most commercially successful project so far. I think they reformed for a couple of London gigs recently.

HARD-FI FACT No. 48366503:

Luke Haines' sometime producer Richard X was in the same class at university as Richard Archer.

I'm not sure, quite possible though. Bust up quite possible too!

I'd love to see The The live but they never seem to tour Frowner

Luke Haines was in majestic form last night. Very witty in between song banter too. An hour long set with plenty of classics and excellent sounding new songs.

Oh yes, I remember that spat between Johnson and Haines well.

The Auteurs were supporting The The on tour, and Matt Johnson had a comedian on the bill, further up than the Auteurs. It was all very Spinal Tap.

"The The's Matt Johnson" is an anagram of "Then jots hot anthems".

I've really got to stop doing this...

My favourite album is 'Dusk'.

'Love is Stronger Than Death', 'Dogs of Lust', 'Slow Emotion Reply'..... all amazingly powerful songs. All with added Johnny Marr on guitar and harmonica too Smiler
