What, no longer 28? Oh see I quite like Snow Patrol so shall be happy either way. Still wish it was the Rifles though Not properly listened to Jag but they're certainly pretty enough Ochs |

i think we've already established that i give no time or respect to the teletext reviews. they think clearlake are good - they obviously have a different make/model of ears than i do...

Enjoy Jag tonight

well, jag were awesome tonight, i have to say. they are exactly the kind of band i like - upbeat, cheeky chappys, ska influences, not too serious, songs about girls n stuff. well pleased. and they're doing well, massive turn out. gig was recorded for ch4, so i'll find out when it's on so you call all watch it
with reference to the kooks comparison, i actually don't think it's that misplaced. the recording of lovers in handcuffs (see myspace) is not as good as it could have been. live, the song sounds quite different - v ordinary boys, rifles esque - but the recording is much more pop, and not unlike the jingly jangly, pappy, summer pop sound that kooks epitomise. disappointing i guess but the live experience made up for it. |

Jamie T - Jan
The Good, The Bad & The Queen - Feb MUSE - June I hardly ever seem to get around to going to see smaller bands/artists any more. It's not living in London, I tell you. |

Comes back that old chestnut of there being no venues in mighty Staines |

Sounds great, pleased they put on a good show. Better than the 'toa?! Or was that mainly down to the venue and sound? Does the Borderline still have a big sign which says "The Borderline" behind the stage? |

It's just not being 10 minutes down the road from Camden any more! |

That sounds well good, definitely remind me when it's on. They were in the Metro yesterday, btw, doing a modelling type shoot, hehe Paul Weller - the daddy. Jesus wept, he was amazing and as I've told Karen, it was even better than the Roundhouse one Maybe because it was full of proper fans who knew every word rather than those on a freebie or BBC flunkies. Gutted he'll be taking a break next year though Oh and Moke were crud. Did not like any of their stuff and can't see why he picked them as support Here's a pic as a taster |

Glad you two had such a good time and thanks for the pics, they're wicked - I know what you mean about the proper fans and not just those waiting to hear Malice! Trying not to think about a year of no Weller...
|

yeah, i saw the metro article - a bit odd.
no, jag weren't better than krakatoa... glad Mr W was so good. i don't think i've been to the forum. how big is it and what's it like? |

I'm hoping to get some Razorlight tickets for their tour next april. For anyone who likes Razorlight the pre-sale tickets go on sale Tuesday 12 December from 9.00am http://www.gigsandtours.comthey then go on general release Thursday 14 December from 9.00am. Paul Weller at the Barras was my last gig of the year so I'm happy with that.

For all you people who were lucky enough to see Paul Weller on Thursday night here's Steve White's solo effort singing Blue Moon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltORLiYKrV4

Cool, thanks! He got him up to do it on Weds too but it was obviously not planned and Whitey looked terrified and only managed a couple of lines - he looks a bit more comfortable with the words and a pint in his hands!

I don't think he should give up his drumming career anytime soon though but still it made me laugh. |
