This is one of my favourite songs. It's hopeful if anything.

No.The Ealing thing was a bit of spontaneity really as the weather was reasonable but don't fancy being stuck in Earls Court drinking.I'd rather go down the pub!Unless they do balloons? Big Grin

That song was unbelievable when I saw them doing it at Queen Square, Bristol. You could hear Horace's voice coming out of the speakers and sailing round your head in all three dimensions. Truly extraordinary.

The song that gets me is this one. It's a beautiful composition with some of the most heart-rending lyrics I've ever heard. For me, it perfectly encapsulates the resignation of someone who has contemplated living and dying, and makes (what seems like) the natural conclusion to a life of drudgery and melancholy.

Sing me to sleep,
Sing me to sleep,
I don't want to wake up on my own anymore.

Good choice. It also shows how thick Noel Gallagher is.He chose it as one of his top ten or something but didn't know it was about suicide!

Just remembered this one.

Do You Realise?

It's a horrible thought."Do you realise everyone you know some day will die" and something that we don't think about too much but The Flaming Lips pull it off as an uplifting song somehow.
