Blur....hmmmm.....there allright, there no oasis though. Hard Fi support blur maybe?

I couldn't give a toss about the support, to be honest. Much as it might be nice to see Hard-fi support Blur, my interest in this gig is Blur and Blur alone.

Oh i bet you're gonna love it. Just behave yourself and don't go kidnapping. Watch out for other ogres who may be at the gig but most of all just have fun.

Well I hope you enjoy it but I can't see it being that good myself, a band who are way past it (and oasis are better and are doing stadium tours this year by the way) for £45 and the only winners on the night will probably be the bands who support them at those gigs!!! |

Pfft, I wouldn't go to see Oasis now, even if I ended up with a AAA pass. I'd say they're the band more past it than Blur and I was never one to get involved in this bollox of Blur VS Oasis, when it was going on all those years ago.
Might have done ten to twelve years ago but they'd gone right off the boil after Be Here Now, which was fairly bloated anyway. The albums after that have just been the same things regurgitated time and again and say nothing new. Even Noel said Albarn is a great artist and offers something different every time. If you haven't already, get the back catalogue of Blur and see how they come on one album to the next then still tell me they're the ones "past it". |

I thought the Blur v Oasis thing was settled in 1995...
Bloody Oasis music-by-numbers lowest-common-denominator music-for-pissheads nonsense. Hope to catch Blur at Glasto. Don't suppose you want to do it again after last year's downpour, eh Cherrylips? |

Is it true there only coming back for the money?
|

Who cares? Would you expect them to do it for free? They have to earn a living just like the rest of us. |
|||
|
|
|
No I wouldn't expect them to do it for free, there not that nice but thats not the point though is it haven't they got enough money? |

And Oasis are broke and on benefits? That's why seeing Noel down my local high street is possible, then?
The tickets are more or less the same for both Oasis (at Wembley) and Blur at Hyde Park. William, I'm contemplating my first Glasto this year. Maybe see you there? |

In fact my understanding is that Damon took a huge personal financial risk to produce Monkey as well as putting a lot of his own resources into Africa Express. I imagine that, as with most bands, they'll make most of the money off of tee-shirts and that, and maybe licensing any live recordings of the concerts, rather than the ticket price. Doesn't it work out that the ticket price barely covers the cost of the logistics? In addition I would rather they do reunion concerts than make their money advertising insurance or whatever it is that Johnny Rotten is touting recently. Just as an example. |
