As part of a series of "Farewell to Teletext" interviews with bands that we've championed on the way up, there'll be a two-part interview with Rich on Teletext this weekend talking about the new album. p824 on ITV1 on digital TV, p344 on old-school analogue TV or www.teletext.co.uk/planetsound
Hard-Fi preview new songs Hard-Fi have placed clips of four new songs on YouTube.
The band are working with a big-name producer for the first time, with 25 songs in various states of completion.
The four-minute film previews songs with a more dance-led feel than their previous two albums, with two notable for Richard Archer singing falsetto for the first time. Another song appears to be called Make You Sweat.

Do you really think later rather than sooner? They surely wouldn't be giving interviews if it were another 6 months away. And seriously, what is it, a triple album? What is taking so long?
Having just read the interview on teletext it makes for very interesting reading. Key points are the album will take as long as it takes maybe a small tour to show the new songs (YES).
I can't wait

"Sweat is about sex" - Like "Killer Sounds is about soldiers coming back from war...and how a lot of them commit suicide when they come back" - No like "There are some great basslines and beats" - Like "a five or six date tour of small venues" - Like like like like like like like like like.
Is it really a bad time for bands at the moment? I wasn't really aware of that.

Unfortunately this is sad but true, I'm guessing Richard saw the same recent documentary on C4 that I did

I think what he's getting at is the way that R 'n B, hip hop and pop have been dominating the singles chart for the past couple of years. Kasabian are a good example of a band still having success in the charts. The Cribs and Maximo Park who can both still sell out major tours both missed the Top 40 with the first single from their latest albums. That would have been unheard of in 2005/06.
