Just wanted to share my happiness at having finally met Richard!! I was walking through Staines yesterday lunch time and he was walking towards me! I was worried about approaching him cos he was on his phone and i didnt want to appear rude but i was worried that i wouldnt ever get an opportunity like this again, anyway to cut a long story short i apologised for interupting him while he was on the phone and asked if there was any chance at all of having a photo with him and he couldnt have been nicer! He was really friendly and kind and he made my day by letting me have a photo with him!! My husband agreed with me and said that he seemed like a really nice bloke!

I grew up in Staines, moved away 5 years ago, and all my new friends thought it was a made up place when I first told them where I was from!

That was really good of him. I had my picture taken with him and I flaming well blinked. Everytime I look at the photo it really really annoys me. I can only hope I get a second chance. Glad yours turned out so well.

Eeep. I know what you mean.
I find meeting people in bands really weird.
Well, I like the idea of it, but I get really shy infront of them.
I know they're just normal people, but it's like: "You wrote one of my favourite songs, and for someone who couldn't live without music that's a pretty big thing" For that reason, I never know what to say to the musicians in bands I love.
I remember when I took the 12 year old daughter of a family friend to We Are Scientists with me. Afterwards, she managed to spot Keith Murray and was like "Can we meet him please?" Then she went all shy and hid behind me, so I had to think of something to say on the spot to avoid looking like a complete idiot. But yeah...I felt like an idiot anyway, because he has a contagious smile and my cheeks hurt for about 15 minutes after.
So yeah, to cut it short. I'm shy...

I don't know what it is but since my band have been getting somewhere, I've seen other people in bands as just average people with talent, really. Probably because I've got quite a few conections with people in signed bands. Rich is a really nice guy, I met him after the ABC gig in Glasgow back last September and he spen tabout 30 minutes outsides talking to everyone who had waited for the band, and I got my pics n autographs. I met all the pigeon detectives in May, and that's when I realized that people in bands are very like us, only their lifes are on TV (mostley exaggerated aswell) they were very down to earth.
Lucky you meeting Rich by the way! you never know, he could have been on his way to the studio to record the next big hit! Smiler
